  • 15 schools were awarded ratings of 10 out of 10.
  • 123 Washington State elementary schools improved significantly since 2004.
  • Of all the state-wide elementary grades tests written in 2008, more than one in three were failed.
  • Of the 282 schools serving the highest proportion of low-income families, 19 achieved a rating of average or above.
  • In 24 schools, students from low income families did better than those from higher income families on the grade 5 state wide reading test.
